Wayla Introduce
Wayla, known for its commitment to authentic homestyle Thai cuisine, extends its flavorful presence to the vibrant DUMBO waterfront in Brooklyn, located within the curated selection of Time Out Market New York. This location focuses on bringing quick, satisfying, and authentically prepared Thai comfort food—the kind of simple, excellent dishes you might find on a busy street in Thailand—right to the local Brooklyn crowd and visitors exploring the area.
Unlike its sibling establishment, the Wayla at Time Out Market offers a streamlined menu of classic, highly-craveable Thai staples. The emphasis here is on flawlessly executing favorite dishes, ensuring that every order is freshly prepared to a standard far above that of a typical food stand. The result is simple food, excellently prepared, with bold flavors that genuinely capture the essence of Thai street food. From perfectly spiced curries to rich noodle dishes, Wayla in DUMBO is a must-visit for New Yorkers seeking a high-quality, quick, and authentic Thai meal without the wait of a full-service restaurant.
The culinary philosophy centers around market-inspired, fresh flavors. Customer favorites like the Spicy Basil Fried Rice with chicken and chilies and the Pad Se-Ew are constantly highlighted for their perfect balance of ingredients. Even simple items like the Veggie Spring Rolls and Fried Dumplings, served with classic sauces, are celebrated for their execution, proving that Wayla delivers quality and flavor across its focused menu.
Wayla is conveniently situated at 55 Water St, Brooklyn, NY 11201, USA. This address places it inside the Empire Stores building, which hosts the Time Out Market in the DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) neighborhood. This location is one of the most picturesque spots in the city, offering easy access to the Brooklyn Bridge Park and the stunning waterfront views of the Manhattan skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge.
The accessibility of this location is excellent, a significant plus for all New Yorkers. The entire Time Out Market building, including the Wayla counter and dining areas, is modern and compliant with accessibility standards:

- Signature Spicy Dishes: The Krapow Ground Chicken/Beef Over Rice with a Fried Egg and the Spicy Basil Fried Rice are praised for their perfect spice and flavor balance.

- Excellent Beverage Pairings: The Housemade Thai Iced Tea, made with oat milk, is frequently recommended as the perfect, sweet, and creamy counterpoint to the spicy entrees.
- Customer Service: Service is consistently described as friendly and amazing, adding a welcoming human touch to the fast-casual experience.

May 10 · E. L (Ny Foodie)Super busy weekend, we walked by this place and took a look around. I couldn't get past how good it smelled and with so many other options this one won me over. Best pad Thai I ever had. The thai tea was good too. We're from Pennsylvania . I might have to go back to Brooklyn just for this. We took our food to go but would love to sit down and eat here when theres not so much going on. Service was so friendly and amazing. Skip Mexology and come here. 100% worth it.

April 30 · Beyond 9 to 6Delicious Thai food in reasonable small portions. The prices here are either high because of location or because of inflation but they are high. My bowl of beef soup was $21 I believe. It was worth it. I was surprised how small it was but ultimately grateful as I am trying to lose weight. The curry was delicious. I would have preferred more than a tablespoon of greens as well. This was my first time at Time Out Market. The market is definitely cool and you are surrounded by a bar as well as other food stalls.
