The establishment offers a unique blend of familiar and innovative Thai dishes that cater to a wide range of tastes. A standout feature is the diverse menu, which showcases staples alongside more unique items, making it a culinary adventure for both first-time visitors and regulars.
The stir-fried noodles and rice dishes are major highlights. Diners rave about the quality, with the CRAB MEAT FRIED RICE ($19.00) being a particularly popular choice. Reviews confirm the deliciousness and high quality of the fried rice selections, noting that dishes like the THAI FRIED RICE (SHRIMP) ($15.00) and the crab variation are satisfying and well-prepared. Classics like PAD THAI (CHICKEN) ($15.00) and PAD SE EWE (SHRIMP) ($17.00) are also on offer, promising authentic flavor profiles that many New Yorkers seek. For those who like a kick, the DRUNKEN NOODLE (SHRIMP) ($17.00) provides a spicy, flavorful option.
Beyond the main courses, Zaab Zaab provides inventive street food options. The Thai-style burgers, including the signature STICKY RICE BURGER ($10.50), ISAN BURGER ($8.50), and KAPOW BURGER ($8.50), offer a creative fusion of Thai flavors and American convenience—perfect for a quick bite or for sampling a small plate. The Noodle Soup section is also a strong draw, featuring hearty options like Beef Noodle ($15.00) and the flavorful Tom Yum Noodle (available with Shrimp or Pork, $15.00), including the specialized Boat Noodle ($15.00), a rich, complex soup.
While the majority of the dining experience is positive, as reflected in high praise for the fried rice and staff attentiveness, it is important for potential patrons to know that, as with any restaurant, isolated negative experiences can occur. One review mentioned issues with a specific chicken dish being dry and cold with poor quality lettuce. However, this appears to be an exception to the general satisfaction with the signature rice and noodle dishes. Zaab Zaab's popularity for lunch and dinner, and its reputation among locals, suggests that it is a reliably good choice for authentic Thai cuisine. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We were in Flushing for a few days, and went to Tangram to eat. I chose the crab fried rice our first day. It was so delicious that I went back again another day for the shrimp fried rice. They were both so good! The lady at the counter was so nice, and remembered me from the day before. I wish we lived closer, because I would definitely come back again!
June 22 · Jessica PachecoHorrible chicken over rice. The meat was so dry and no other flavor besides black pepper. There is no addition sauce. The lettuce underneath the rice and chicken is rotten, it's black. We don't eat it but it was on top of the hot food. The dish itself was cold right out of the kitchen. Service is was not too friendly. Overall, bad experience for services ans food. See picture below for the food
November 17 · Michelle ChanFood was far from authentic and way too salty. Cash only or quick-pay, not worth the $15 price tag.
August 02 · GigiThis restaurant is a gem at the Tangram food court serving authentic Thai cuisine! The place is small, but they clearly displayed their effort to create a nice dining atmosphere with decor and lighting.I’ve been here many times and tried many items on the menu. Food was flavourful with a good amount of spices. Here’s what I really like and ordered many times!- Kapow over rice- Thai fried rice with extra egg- Pad Thai- Drunken Noodle
July 28 · Sylvia LanEverything on this menu is delicious!! Not a single item I wouldn’t order again. Definitely has a little bit of spice but nothing crazy.
