What makes Thai Smile worth choosing for any Vermonter is its deep commitment to authentic flavor and generous value, despite occasional operational hiccups. This is truly an "old school, authentic and absolutely delicious" Thai experience, as noted by a long-time enthusiast of Thai cuisine.
The highest praise is reserved for the curries and noodles. The Chicken Yellow Curry, priced at $11.95 for chicken or tofu/vegetable, is repeatedly hailed for its "incredible flavor" and the "soooo much" tender and juicy chicken it contains. Similarly, the Beef Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle), also $11.95, is described as delicious with generous portions of beef. For those seeking seafood, the Shrimp option for curries, noodles, and stir-fries is $13.95, or one can splurge on the flavorful Pad Cha Seafood special for $20.00. The fried rice selections are also a strong offering, with the Crab Fried Rice ($16.00) being a highly recommended customer favorite.
While one customer noted issues with slow dine-in service and an instance of a wrong order or extreme spice level (even when requesting mild), this is often balanced by the consistent praise for the staff's friendliness, their willingness to customize spice levels and ingredients, and the overall high quality and authenticity of the prepared food. For those sensitive to spice, it is explicitly recommended to communicate their preference clearly. Given the large portion sizes and excellent flavor profile of the consistently high-rated dishes—particularly the curries and noodles—Thai Smile remains a strong recommendation. Its location on a major Vermont artery and its comprehensive service options, including Curbside pickup, ensure it is a practical and highly rewarding dining choice for delicious, authentic Thai cuisine.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Sat in, ordered the waited for 50 minutes for the first appetizer to came out, then another 20 mins for the other appetizer. The entrees came out another 15 mins. The pineapple fried rice had no flavors, and the spicy eggplant were barely cooked. At that point, we didn't bother to complain as my kids were so hungry. The appetizers do tasted good.
October 10 · Calvin LeeI have been eating Thai food for decades, before it became popular, and have had my share of so so meals. This place was not one of them! I had the chicken yellow curry and aside from the incredible flavor, the quality and quantity of chicken was amazing. The chicken was so tender and juicy and there was sooooo much of it! My husband got beef pad kee mao (aka drunken noodles) which was also delicious with generous portions of beef. I wish we had a Thai place like this near us….old school, authentic and absolutely delicious!
March 08 · Merry ChaikenCame to Vermont for a ski trip and this was right across from our hotel. Ordered take out and got the Yellow Curry with Tofu Mild and white rice. Veggie Spring Rolls & the Chicken Katsu. Let me tell you, some of the best Thai food I’ve had in a while! Very authentic, and I love how full of spice their flavors are. The katsu was delicious as was the curry. Came back 2 days later to bring food home for my family. Got the crab Rangoon, curry again, pad Thai with shrimp mild, basil duck mild, and the snapper fish. Oh my goodness, every meal here is a hit! I wish Thai Smile was close to me. Reasonably priced and good sized portions. Flavorful and authentic!
January 15 · The Foodie BaddieThis is one of the best Thai restaurants in US. So glad we found this place during our recent visit to Stowe. The food is so delicious and the prices are reasonable. We dined in the first day and also did a take out the following day. The portions were good. There is ample parking space and a lot of vegan and vegetarian friendly food options too.
June 23 · AnuSmall and quaint but staff is so nice and so helpful. Opted to take a chance to snag a table & we are thankful we did.Food was incredible. Our server was an older gentleman and super nice! You could tell he works really hard to make sure everyone’s happy!Lots of vegan choices, just ask!We wanted the avocado fresh rolls but sadly they were sold out, thankfully they had spring rolls which were very good!Next dish was the Rama Dish, requested no fish oil (not sure it comes with it or not but had to be safe - allergy) with tofu. Came with Jasmine Rice and was extremely good! The sauce was incredible. Everything cooked perfect. My mom got the Khao Soi Noodle with chicken and said it was the most incredible Thai dish she’s ever had. Between the flavors and the texture, everything was cooked perfectly. We are just visiting but highly recommend checking out this place whether eating in or getting take out. Well worth it. And price very fairly.
