THEP Thai Restaurant Introduce
Welcome to THEP Thai Restaurant, an essential dining destination for authentic and vibrant Thai cuisine located right in the heart of the Upper East Side in New York City. The name "THEP" itself is inspired by "Krung Thep," the Thai name for Bangkok, the "City of Angels," reflecting the restaurant's mission to deliver a supreme, almost "god-like," dining experience through excellent food and drinks. As a popular neighborhood spot, THEP has cultivated a reputation among New Yorkers for its blend of traditional Thai flavors and creative, modern dishes, all served in a stylish and inviting setting. Whether you are a long-time resident of the Upper East Side or a visitor seeking an authentic taste of Thailand, THEP offers a memorable culinary journey that is both comfortable and exhilarating.
The restaurant proudly goes beyond the typical Thai eatery, classifying itself as an all-encompassing spot that includes a Thai restaurant, Asian fusion restaurant, Asian restaurant, Cocktail bar, Gluten-free restaurant, Vegan restaurant, and a Wok restaurant. This diversity in offerings ensures that every guest, regardless of dietary preferences or cravings, can find a truly satisfying meal. From classic noodle and rice dishes to rich, aromatic curries and creative small plates, THEP is a celebrated anchor in the neighborhood’s dining scene.
A quick look at the menu highlights why local patrons often return. The Massaman Curry is a particularly renowned dish, described by customers as absolutely delicious, rich in flavor, and generously portioned—often enough for two to share comfortably. Another fan-favorite starter is the Chive Pancake, which is so popular that some guests confess to ordering it twice in one sitting! For a comprehensive taste of the appetizers, the Thep Platter offers a shareable combo of Crab Rangoons, Crispy Spring Rolls, Chive Pancakes, and various dumplings. The dedication to quality and flavor is evident throughout the menu, from the staple Pad Thai and Pad See Eiw to more unique offerings like the Khao Pad Mun Nua and Gaeng Phed Ped Yarng (Seared Duck Red Curry), which reviewers have singled out as one of the best items to order.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Recently dined at Thep Thai and had a wonderful experience overall. The Massaman curry was absolutely delicious, rich in flavor, tasty, and with a quantity generous enough for two people to share comfortably. The chive pancake was another highlight; it was so good that we ended up ordering it twice, though it was a bit softer than expected. The chive dumpling with Massaman curry was decent, but we felt the curry portion was slightly less for four dumplings. Beyond the food, the ambience was warm and welcoming, adding to the enjoyable dining experience.
