Kinn Introduce
Kinn Thai is a truly authentic and beloved Thai food destination located in the heart of Manhattan's bustling Chelsea neighborhood. Situated within the vibrant Olly Olly Market, Kinn stands out by offering deeply traditional, time-honored recipes that tell the story of a Thai family's culinary adventure. The name "Kinn" itself holds a double meaning: in Thai, it translates to "eat" (กิน), and in English, it evokes the idea of "family," perfectly encapsulating the restaurant’s philosophy of inviting patrons to relish the tastes of Thailand while being embraced by a familiar, nostalgic warmth. As an Asian-owned and women-owned business, Kinn brings a high level of dedication and personal touch to the New York food scene, celebrating Grandma Yaa’s most cherished recipes.
The essence of Kinn’s offering is rooted in authentic Thai street food and home cooking, perfected over generations. Customers in New York consistently praise the authenticity and bold flavors that are often hard to find outside of Thailand. The menu is highly focused on quality, traditional preparations across key categories. For instance, the Stir Fry section features high-demand items like the Pad Kraprow Moo Krob (Crispy Pork Basil), which is frequently cited by local reviewers as being executed to perfection, and the classic Pad Kraprow Gai Kai Daew (Basil Chicken Over Rice With Fried Egg). The Fried Rice options are equally compelling, particularly the richly flavored Khao Pad Pu (Crab Fried Rice) and the uniquely authentic Khao Kruk Kapi (Shrimp Paste Fried Rice), which features candied pork belly and sour mango.
Beyond the stir-fries, the noodle and curry selections provide deep, complex comfort. The soups, such as the hearty Thai Noodle Soup With Chicken (Guay Tiaw Gai) and the creamy, housemade Tom Yum Goon Nam Khon (Tom Yum Soup With Shrimp), are packed with aromatic Thai spices. For curries, the kitchen prepares homemade curry pastes for its classics, including the rich Gaeng Keow Wan Gai (Green Curry With Chicken) and the flavorful Gaeng Garee Talay (Yellow Curry With Seafood). The offering is balanced with healthy options, small plates, quick bites, and dedicated vegetarian options like the Pad Kraprow Ma Kuer (Eggplant & Tofu Basil Stir Fry). The entire menu is a testament to fresh ingredients and traditional cooking methods, delivering an inspired and unforgettable dining experience that makes Kinn a must-try for any true Thai food enthusiast in NYC.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1They’ve got the best Krapow Moo Krob — crispy pork basil done perfectly! I also loved their Shrimp Paste Fried Rice, so flavorful and authentic. I honestly didn’t expect a Thai food court spot to be this good. Hope they open a full restaurant soon because the food deserves it!
October 13 · Thanapol EngelI’m really confused, I ordered vegeterian Pad Kea Mao and veggies were delicious but noodles had zero sauce. Perhaps this is how it’s supposed to come in this restaurant and I’ll correct the rating. I just never experienced noodles with no sauce in any other Thai place. It lacked flavor, however was definitely more on the healthy side with no sauce 🤣
June 13 · sonikThis is my go to neighborhood Thai! The food is authentic and so tasty!! Expect spice level to be higher than most local Thai spots, you can always ask for the chilli level to be taken down a notch. The menu may be limited but everything is very good! I do keep coming back to the Pad Kee Mao and crab fried rice. It’s in a food court, weekday lunch is pretty crowded, dinnertime is less busy. There’s a few counter seats right at the stall. Service is super quick and always friendly!
September 29 · Places We’ll Go!Best Thai food in Chelsea, their counter is always super clean, the food smells and taste fresh, they are friendly and sweet, especially Andrew, what a sweetheart! Delicious pad see ew with prawns or chicken, the crab fried rice is a must try, their rich broth noodle soups are packed with flavors and super layered, and they’re probably serving one of the best fried chicken in NYC. I also LOVE their Pork Belly! Great service, fresh ingredients, and bold flavors. Recommend for lunch and dinner!
January 09 · Camilo FloresThis is a perfect blend of an authentic Thai experience and NYC chic. The food is straight from Thailand, I've been there so I can speak first hand, and Christy elevates your experience with her hospitality and NYC swag. Hopefully she will be there when you visit. You are in for a treat!!
