What truly sets Thai House Restaurant apart and makes it a worthwhile choice for Vermont diners is the comprehensive, flavorful menu and the comfortable, professional dining experience. The menu is structured to appeal to all tastes, from those seeking familiar favorites to those wishing to explore more unique Thai preparations.
For main courses, the "Pan Fried" section is vast, featuring classic options like Pad Prik Sod, Ginger, and the signature Thai House Basil. Their curries, including the Red Curry, Green Curry, and creamy Massaman, offer a rich, aromatic experience at an accessible price point ($11.50 for lunch portions). The noodle selection is robust, highlighted by the nationally recognized Pad Thai, the fiery Drunken Noodle, and the savory Pad Si Eew (all $12.00 for lunch). Furthermore, the Noodle Bowls, such as the Beef Noodle Soup and Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup, provide a hearty and comforting meal option, especially appreciated on a chilly Vermont day.
A standout dish that repeatedly garners high praise from customers is the Honey Duck ($23.95). One reviewer noted they would make a nearly two-hour drive specifically to enjoy this fantastic dish again, a powerful testament to its quality. Other unique and appealing main courses include the Duck Basil, the seafood offerings like Volvano Shrimp, and the fish options such as Garlic Salmon. The restaurant also provides tempting dessert options, including the traditional Mango Sticky Rice and Fried Ice Cream.
It is also worth noting the flexibility in seasoning. While some diners have observed that the standard dishes are mild in flavor, which is appreciated by those who prefer to "taste their food without it hurting," others who crave heat are simply advised to request extra spice. This adaptability ensures that both those who prefer a mild, flavorful experience and those who seek authentic Thai heat can enjoy their meal fully. The combination of a professionally executed menu, praised dishes like the Honey Duck, excellent tea, and an accommodating, accessible, and friendly service style makes Thai House Restaurant a must-try destination for authentic Thai cuisine in the St Albans City area. Whether you are craving the comfort of a noodle soup or an adventurous duck dish, Thai House is prepared to deliver a satisfying and memorable meal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Small, but clean, with background music that is actually in the *background* so that you can hold a conversation without shouting. Pad Thai was solidly good, but the Honey Duck was fantastic! We live almost two hours away and we'll be making the drive back just to have the Honey Duck. Other reviewers complained about the lack of heat in the spicing, but I appreciate being able to taste my food without it hurting. Then again, I don't order the dishes that are labeled spicy and appreciate the "mild" dishes actually being mild! Service was prompt, attentive and professional.
August 05 · Morgaine BellThe dining area is cozy and clean. We were seated quickly. The Pad See Ew tasted slightly burned. Pad Thai was sweeter than expected. The seasoning on both dishes was light and not hot at all. Usually a good Thai place brings the heat, at this restaurant you won't have anything spicy unless you request it.
July 26 · Jeff VaughanI think this is one of the best Thai restaurants in the area. It’s really authentic and tasty.I did not expect it to be as good as it was :) a great surprise!( could have been a little more spicy 🌶)
October 03 · alina orlovHow did this restaurant get a Tripadvisor award?!? This is the WORST, I mean WORST Thai food I have ever eaten. It takes a lot for me to give a bad review, but I had to in this case. The people giving a five stars must never have eaten Thai Food. If you have eaten good Thai food is for yourself a favor, stay away from this restaurant! The service was terrible. Ordered the Paradise Fish which was supposed to be a Whole Fish. When I questioned the fish, the older lady told me she took out the head and bones. I didn’t ask you to do that, I know what I’m getting into ordering a whole fish. I was given a fillet! (See picture). If you don’t have a whole fish, just say it and I will order something else. Don’t charge me $18.95 for a fillet. With all the terrible tasting cucumbers, tomatoes and onions on the fish, the fish was cold!! Also ordered spicy drunken noodles with tofu, oh was it as terrible as the fish. Not sure what was claimed to be tofu.Their customer service was terrible, I repeat terrible! When I questioned the food, the older lady started speaking to the young lady by the register, I asked her to stop talking about me because I’m questioning the food I just paid for.Don’t waste your money.
July 11 · Nicky OThe food... and presentation are phenomenal. Generous portions. Attentive, friendly service. Both takeout and dine-in again are available. This restaurant offers a quiet, clean dining room, with long tables, high-backed booths and smaller tables. Reservations recommended.
