Thai Lemongrass & Red Chili Introduce
For New Jersey residents in the Jackson Township area, finding a convenient local spot that offers a diverse array of Asian cuisine for quick meals and family dinners is a priority. Thai Lemongrass & Red Chili, situated on S New Prospect Rd, attempts to meet this need by positioning itself as a local destination for both Thai and Asian fusion dishes, alongside offering a selection of popular Chinese-American favorites and even sushi takeaway options. The concept aims to be a versatile neighborhood establishment where users can easily grab dinner or order delivery to satisfy various cravings.
While the business presents itself as a broad-ranging Asian eatery, it is important for prospective patrons to note that the establishment appears to operate out of a location with a history as a traditional Chinese restaurant, potentially "China Ming." This dual identity is reflected in its diverse menu, which lists both specialized Thai dishes, like **Tom Yum Koong** and **Thai Green Salad**, alongside classic Chinese-American offerings, such as **Roast Pork Fried Rice** and **Vegetable Lo Mein**. The current offering structure suggests an Asian fusion model designed for convenient takeout and delivery, which is ideal for busy New Jersey households.
However, recent community feedback has provided strong caution regarding the execution of the food and the consistency of the Thai-specific dishes. Patrons have noted a discrepancy between the expected quality of a newly branded establishment and the actual experience. Specifically, reviews suggest that some Thai dishes, such as the **Pad Thai**, have been prepared with minimal sauce and a lack of authentic flavor or spice. The restaurant appears to lean heavily on the "Asian restaurant" and "Chinese restaurant" types, with some customers feeling that the Thai offerings are simply Chinese dishes repurposed with sweet chili sauce.
Despite these critical reviews, the business remains operational and maintains a basic service model centered on convenience. It focuses exclusively on **Delivery** and **Takeout**, foregoing a dine-in option, which streamlines the process for those looking for a fast meal solution. For those comfortable with a more traditional Chinese-American experience that offers a few Thai-inspired selections, this establishment provides the necessary services. As with any fusion establishment, setting expectations appropriately based on community feedback is recommended before traveling the twenty minutes that some previous customers have mentioned.

Key accessibility features are provided for the community:
- **Wheelchair accessible entrance** is available, ensuring ease of access for all patrons coming for takeout.
Since the restaurant focuses entirely on takeout and delivery, parking should be straightforward within the strip mall setting.

For New Jersey users seeking an extremely convenient, fast-service option for a large-scale takeout order, Thai Lemongrass & Red Chili may be worth considering, especially if your party has diverse preferences spanning Chinese-American staples and some Thai-inspired dishes. The inclusion of classics like **Vegetable Lo Mein** (soft noodles) and the various **Fried Rice** options makes it a simple choice for a standard Friday night family dinner where speed and variety are prioritized over specialized, authentic Thai preparation.
However, New Jersey patrons should approach this business with cautious expectations, particularly if the primary goal is authentic Thai cuisine. Based on consistent customer feedback, those specifically seeking authentic, boldly flavored, and traditional Thai dishes like a spicy, saucy **Pad Thai** should be wary, as multiple reports indicate a disappointing execution of these specialized plates. The perception among customers is that the focus leans more towards a Chinese-American model, with a thin overlay of Thai branding.
If you are in the immediate vicinity and need a quick, no-frills takeout meal, and are interested in simpler, reliable items such as the basic **Roast Pork Fried Rice** or a simple bowl of **Miso Soup**, this restaurant offers a functional solution. Given the lack of a phone number and the critical reviews regarding food quality and misleading branding (e.g., the sign not being changed from the former Chinese restaurant), local users are strongly encouraged to verify current operational details and menu execution before making a long drive or a significant financial commitment, especially when ordering their specific Thai-named items.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The only reason I even tried this place was because On Google it said it was recently opened and had 5 stars. I was hoping for a new, clean place with great food that you would expect from a newly opened place. All of that could not be further from the truth. This place is a dirty, run down, old strip mall Chinese restaurant that I think is trying to rebrand themselves as a Thai restaurant. If I had to guess, they got horrible reviews and are trying to trap people like myself that don’t know any better. They did not even change the sign for the restaurant, I had to call because I couldn’t find it. We ordered pad Thai (spicy) and a mai fun chicken dish. Not only was there literally no sauce on the pad Thai, it was not at all spicy. The other dish had a hint of sauce but was spicy. I was so hopeful for good food, I drove 20 minutes each way to get it. I will never do that again. I also got an egg roll that must have been cooked earlier in the day that they forgot to heat up. Don’t even get me started on the free shrimp tempura roll, yuck, Avoid this place at all cost.
June 12 · Bill CashThis is China Ming, not a Thai restaurant. The only reason I tried it is because it said it was new. They’re just covering their regular Chinese food with sweet chili sauce and calling it Thai. Beware. I ordered coconut rice, it was plain white Chinese rice covered in sweet chili sauce. I ordered cashew chicken, it was just regular chicken covered in sweet chili sauce and a few cashews thrown in. Don’t waste your money.
October 15 · Abby ReskoAbsolutely. Disgusting. We just ordered for dinner because we wanted to try a new restaurant, and none of us could finish our plates. All the food had to go in the garbage, it was horrible! It caused one of my family members to immediately get sick. NEVER AGAIN.
January 08 · Tara Bryan$60. And it took over 1.5 hours to get ... no thanks!
January 12 · M BStaff is very rude. Website clearly states "Dine-in". Take out only!
